Nothing like family...

A birthday gathering at the old Boone's Restaurant on Custom House Wharf for Aunt Connie... great food (lobster, corn on the cob, mussels, strawberry shortcake... awesome), wonderful people, plenty of kids, lots of hugs and laughter.

Thank you, Johnson family! Great to see the Oklahoma crew. Great to see everyone. Hope you enjoy the pictures. (Let me know if you want me to send you a specific jpg sent so you can have it printed.)

Friends

Somehow, every year or two, when the stars align just so in the heavens, an opportunity presents itself for we band of brothers to come together.

Gordon was in Maine being the good son to his infirmed, elderly mother. Bob drove down from his new home in Harpswell. We ate good food, drank margaritas and stayed up into the wee hours catching up on each others lives. We walked the beach, laughed until our belly's ached and enjoyed being in the company of real friends, people who know each other as well as anyone can know another fellow traveler. We are older, grayer, bad knees and sore feet, less hair, but wiser, more content, egos diminished. Still we are "better men".

What a treat. Thanks brothers. Until next time...

Free will can be interpreted as the struggle to self-actualize—to determine who you are as an individual and make the conscious decisions to govern your own life. But, that’s not how society works. We have become too dependent upon each other for our own survival and prosperity that true individualism and free will can and will ever exist. Free will must never exist within a society. The simple cliché too many chiefs and not enough Indians is a clear depiction on how society works. There is a ruling class and a working class. The ruling class is made of a selected few. The working class is everybody else. The best evidence for the pursuit of free will is to be neither the working class nor the ruling class. The ruling class and the working class are a symbiotic relationship. They are ruled by one another. One cannot survive without the other. If the workers don’t work than the rulers will fall. If the rulers fail to lead then the workers will disperse to find new masters. They are one in the same, so to write.

Therefore, the pursuit of free will does not exist within the confines of society but in the outskirts of society. Isolationism is the key to free will. Become totally dependent upon yourself and no ruling class will market your free will. You will be the master of your fate/the captain of your soul. "
