Shapes, Shadows & Spanish Moss

75 degrees and brilliant blue skies, a perfect day to peddle the 10 miles of bike paths on Jekyll Island. Everywhere we looked there were shapes. shadows and Spanish Moss. A spectacular day.

Arches and graceful angles, from the fishing pier at the north end of the island...

to the spires of Crane's "Cottage" originally built when the Vanderbilts, Goodyears, Pulitzers and Carnegies claimed the island for the rich and famous in the early 1900's...

to the awesome engineering marvel of the Jekyll Island bridge.

The moss hung ethereal...

shadowing the Long Leaf Pines and the Live Oaks...

gnarled over time by the sea breezes.

Magnificent. Mysterious. Magical.

Yippeee !!! Jekyll Island !!! It sounds as though you had a perfect day . The images are breath taking, I'm sure it was a wonderful adventure to take together. Brian is home = )
we are enduring the mud, yes mud season is here. Our hearts still remain in Georgia, how does it go "Georgia, Georgia, no peace I find, like and old sweet song, keeps Georgia on my mind" and of course you and Glen too.
Kisses and Hugs
Anna and Brian
