Jekyll Island and 68 degrees,,,

It was a beautiful day in Georgia and we didn't have to work until 2:00 so Bob, Judy, Connie, Glen, Sampson and Delilah jumped in the van and drove over to the island next door. It is amazing that we had the entire beach to ourselves.

Bob and Judy found a quiet dune and hunkered down for a spell...

Bob already knows how to "just B..." (inside joke... check the hat)

We met some neat peopple in GO FISH yesterday and ran into them again on Jekyll. They were attending a physical education seminar at the convention center. self professed "Georgia girls"... Good people.

Working 9 to 2 tomorrow. Maybe we'll head up Island to the Red Barn on Saturday night for a little dancing and roasted oysters. They fly out on Sunday. It's been fun.

Hey, You guys have left me thoroughly exhausted. From sobbing while watching Oprah to laughing and crying with you across the country...wasn't it only yesterday that we were floating down the Saco River! Where did the time go? It's great to check in on you again!

Aunt Vernita let us know about the Oprah Show...great job!!! Greg's sister has a friend, Chris at Madison Paper. His wife, Claudette, told Benni about your blog and sent the address. Haven't gotten a thing done at work because I've had to read it top to bottom. What a story!! Our paths have crossed a couple times along the way. We may have passed you on your way into Fla. last year...we were headed home and we probably missed you by a couple weeks down through the Shenandoah Valley this fall...Beautiful! If you head back to Fla, Mom and Dad in Haines City, just southwest of Disney World. If you're still in GA, don't miss St. Patrick's Day in Savannah! It has to be seen to be believed! We have friends in Savannah...Skidaway Island... and have made several stops there...LOVE IT. Gregory "The Prince" Joy has marched in the parade a couple times with the Finnean Society (Irish Catholic) that our friend, Billy, is a member of. Kevin Barry's Irish Pub on River St. is a MUST and warm prailines down the street at River St. Sweets.
Rick's daughters, Kristy and Brittany are up in Myrtle Beach. We've been down a couple times and love it there at the North end of the beach. Brittany drives a beer cart on a golf course. Kristy works in the club house and in an Italian restaurant...they're having a ball. We'll be heading South in March or April.

Happy Trails!

Hey Guys! Sister Kathy sent your blog address to me so I've been reading too - what fun you're having! It's been nice to catch up with you since I've seemed to miss the past few family get togethers so I believe it's been years since I've seen you two and your family. I've loved reading your blog and seeing the pictures. If you're ever in the Boynton Beach, Florida area, look up Steve - he's been working there just over a year while we try to figure out how this long-distance employment arrangement is going to work. We figure at this point that anyone who has a good job is doing better than most - only problem is, he has a good job there and I have a good job here in Maine - but what lessons we're learning along this road we're traveling! I go down during school vacations and he comes home when he can - other than that, it's a phone call every night - and several calls when he's in the grocery store! I'm blessed to still have Brett at home helping me so much - at least until he's done school in May - then we'll see what life brings us! My motto since Dexter Shoe closed: "No one has died" - so as hard as life has been on us, we are still so blessed to have not gone through what you have. You are truly extraordinary people who have suffered so much and yet are now taking that suffering and helping so many people. I missed Oprah since I didn't get the e-mail from Mom until after it was on, but I've read the story and seen the pictures - and heard first hand from my sisters about it - who both cried through the entire thing. I'll keep on checking this site occasionally just to stay in touch! Safe traveling!
